ESTY GRAPHICS DEVELOPER

I started my Etsy shop to bring more personality and school spirit into college spaces. I designed digital wall art in Photoshop and Canva, inspired by universities, local hangouts, and campus culture, creating pieces that resonated with students and alumni. Over time, I expanded to cover multiple schools and designed a catalog of 100+ original graphic designs, all while learning how to market, brand, and connect with customers in a fun, authentic way.

The PROBLEM

When I looked at the landscape of college themed decor, most of it felt generic, outdated, or mass produced. There was little focus on design quality, brand personality, or user experience, despite students and alumni wanting products that felt unique and personal to their college.

Each product involved:

  • Designing post-purchase support materials (FAQs, how-to guides) to deliver a seamless end-to-end customer experience

  • Adding to a scalable digital product system with automated renewals and instant file delivery

IMPACT

In the first 100 days, the shop generated $2,000+ in profit with 373 sales, ranking on the first page of Google for key search terms. By refining SEO and testing product presentation, I increased organic traffic by 71%, boosted sales by 43%, and maintained a 6.2% conversion rate, all while scaling a catalog of 100+ products across multiple universities.

THE TAKEAWAY

This experience showed me how much I enjoy connecting design with real-world users. It wasn’t just about creating artwork, it was about designing a system where branding, digital delivery, and customer experience all worked together. I learned the importance of iteration, consistency, and design thinking across the entire user journey. Moving forward, I bring this mindset to every project.
